Taking the mystery out of counselling/coaching/mentoring

About Counselling
Any form of counselling relies upon the quality of the relationship between the client (that's you) and the counsellor (that's me). With a good therapeutic relationship in place we can work through most difficulties that are troubling you, including those that feel impossible to resolve.
My role is to be alongside you through these difficult and often challenging times. Our sessions will be guided by you and what you feel is important at this moment in time. We will then find a way to work together to; for example, elevate stressors, change unhelpful behaviours, find peace, enable forgiveness or acceptance and help you to value the person you are. I can help you by tailoring a combination of therapies to suit you (for further explanation of the therapies I use please see the FAQ page of this website).

About coaching & mentoring:

Coaching and mentoring – the difference. Coaching and mentoring use the same skills and approach, but coaching is short term task-based and mentoring is a longer term relationship.

I use the GROW model - what is it?
*How the GROW Model Works
The GROW Model is an acronym standing for (G)oals, (R)eality, (O)ptions and (W)ill, highlighting the four key steps in the implementation of the GROW Model. By working through these four stages, the GROW Model raises an individual’s awareness and understanding of:
their own aspirations;
their current situation and beliefs;
the possibilities and resources open to them; and
the actions they want to take to achieve their personal and professional goals.
By setting goals which are inspiring and challenging as well as specific, measurable and achievable in a realistic time frame, the GROW Model successfully promotes confidence and self-motivation, leading to increased productivity and personal satisfaction. The Will element of the fourth stage in the model is the barometer of success. It relates to volition, desire and intention.
I may also use some of my other therapies outlined on my FAQ page - tailoring the support that best suits you.
